What we do with what you send

We record the link you reported, your description, the email address you gave (unverified), an optional name, and how you told us the content relates to you — that you appear in it, that you are the parent or guardian of someone who does, that you own the rights, or something else. We also store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address — never the address itself — purely to stop the form being flooded. The salt is a secret held by us, so the hash cannot be matched back to an address by anyone who obtains it.

We keep the request while it is open and for two years afterwards, so a decision can be explained if it is ever challenged. It is not used for anything else and it is not shared. See our Privacy Policy.

What happens next

• A human reviews the request. Nothing is removed automatically — an automatic takedown on an unverified claim would let anyone erase someone else's work.
• If we remove the content, we also remove copies of it we know about.
• If we need more information, we write to the address you gave.
